EXETYPE ProjectA collaboration with

Ryanide on the Exetype project. The project aims to produce a Fighter game with its characters being anthro-androids.
Setsuna is a tanuki android from another universe. I also made a whole set of concept art to explain how she moves. It's sketchy but I Hope you can have fun with her playful action!
Her design resembles heavily on Japanese culture so I wrote some alternative settings of "what if she is an actual Japanese" just for fun. Mikawano was not her official family name.
Anyways, getting off course, let's break it down shall we?
Vision: While Japanese/Asian themed fighting style is nothing new, the techniques are unique on its own. Instead of typical sword fighting, karate or ninjutsu techniques, the attack and defense idea instead play on more umm...I don't want to say childish portrayal but a more imaginative one? I hope you know what I'm trying to say. Applying more of the culture of Japan is very creative and it shows of more than the usual 'realistic' fighting styles of Asia.
Originality: Not much to say besides what I've said before. Asian themed fighting is nothing new, but I will give you credit for applying something more imaginative to it.
Technique: The doodles are cute. I would love to see more stylized individual images in order to see more detail in the moves. If you understand pixel animation or know somebody who does, it would be amazing to see her and a few of her moves animated in a video game sprite or even just animated in normal 2D drawings. I think it would be cool! But you have accurate anatomy and perspectives and it gives us a feel of the power and effort that goes into each move. It's also refreshing to see a Tanuki fighter. It's always Kitsunes or Dog demons in this kind of Asian fighting style so it's nice to shine the limelight on a somewhat lesser known Japanese creature.
Impact: Personally, this is really cool. I've already really covered how I feel about the unique set of moves etc so I really can't say much more about impact more than I already have expressed previously.
