Edit 2013-01-02: Clean up, reworked outline, a few modification on the clothes, description update.
The mascot character I designed for Krita the free and open source digital painting application. This character is a squirrel android, the choice of her species was inspired by Krita's community discussion. I haven't named her yet, but feel like to name her "Krystine".
Around May 2012 I left Microsoft Windows and other proprietary software altogether and went GNU/Linux. Since then Krita has been my main primary drawing program. It has an innovative user interactive design and a powerful natural brush system. If you are a GNU/Linux user, Krita should be available from your software center. There is also an experimental build for Windows users. Check out Krita's website [link] to find out how to get it.
David has made many tutorials and resources for Krita, available on his website [link] . If you are new to Krita, make sure to visit his place for some useful tips and brushes!
Software used: Ubuntu [link] An operating system based on GNU [link] / Linux [link] . Krita [link] Drawing and coloring. GIMP [link] Typography. All software I used are free and open sourced. I appreciate all the efforts from their communities.

By mixing some ideas: animal, robotic and flowers on existing clothing style. I put a very long time designing them too, and never hesitate to correct the design even then the actual picture is almost finished. In my case, the time cost on design is much longer than coloring.
Thank you! She is Krita's mascot after all, and therefore must be done in Krita! In fact I'm drawing everything using Krita now, it is just that capable. And half of my current applications are Qt/KDE applications. I do what I do best to support their development!
I'm a Qt/KDE fan.
