I know I have been quite inactive the past month, alot of private stuff going on and upcoming exams, but I will try to be more active again from now on. Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling

I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.
I haven't finished writing SPIKE yet.

Okay, as a friend of ~theGeniusIndigo I'd like to verify the fact that In-World (Second Life) he has specifically mentioned to everyone inquiring about the avatar. It is not for sale, but will be released as a freebie instead, as mentioned in this journal.

It's just irritating to see so many people accusing him of theft. He asked for permission, permission was granted and he isn't making any money off of it, nor is he claiming the character as his own. If anything it should be a compliment that =extvia's work is so fabulous that he went out of his way to work on this modelling for... Oh, a couple of months now. I can recall seeing him start on this maybe back in.. November of '09? He's put a LOT of work into it, so just appreciate it for what it is, a giftart to =extvia and a way to share with his fans who are currently in-world.

I'm sure the people that are 'accusing' him are folks who saw him SELLING it in world and that may be why. It really doesn't matter how much effort he went through to make it if he's trying to profit off someone else's character/ work.

I mean, If it IS being distributed for free like it should be, why has noone posted the SURL where to pick it up...? Your friend included.

Also, from what I've read, Extiva said he was only allowed to give it away. The guy used it for some 'charity' event for 800L. That wasn't what he was given permission to do. So maybe THAT's why he's getting accused.

Yes, in that way people would have enough reason to suspect the whole thing to be profitable, no matter what the truth is. And I think it had constituted violation of the standard of Creative Commons, no matter how the creator's original intention may be.
